Cycling is more than just a mode of transportation; it's a vibrant community that brings together people who share a passion for two wheels. Joining a cycling group provides a fantastic opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow cycling enthusiasts who, like you, are eager to explore new routes, exchange tips, and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from shared adventures. Whether you're a seasoned rider or just starting out, engaging with others who share your love for cycling can enhance your experience and make it even more enjoyable. Plus, it’s a great way to expand your social network while staying active and healthy.

Rest Stops and Post Ride Gatherings

The majority of club rides are routed so that they pass by a convenient place to stop for a short break, typically at about the halfway point. Usually, we stop at a location that offers restroom facilities and the opportunity to purchase food and drink if you are so inclined.

Take the opportunity to enjoy a snack and engage in conversation with the group before resuming your ride. Occasionally, group members will decide to gather for lunch after the ride.

Annual Picnic

The LVCC annual picnic is typically scheduled during August at a local park. It is limited to Club Members only. The club supplies a main dish; attending members are asked to bring a side dish, snacks or drinks to share. Rides, prior to the picnic, of various distances are offered, so we are always looking for volunteers to lead those rides.

Annual Holiday Party

Held in early December at a local venue, the LVCC Holiday Party is a great opportunity for LVCC members to celebrate the current Cycling Season!  The festivities start with a cash bar cocktail hour, followed by a buffet dinner. After dinner, there is a brief club meeting with Officer Elections for the next year's cycling season. 

Special Events

Periodically, LVCC will offer special events for club members. This includes multi-day rides outside of our normal cycling area, such as the Eastern Shore Weekend.  Also in this category are rides with a post-ride picnic, to which members are typically asked to contribute an item of food or drink.
